Top Ten Covers I Would Frame as Pieces of Art

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely girls at The Broke and the Bookish. And let me tell you what, this was a very challenging top ten for me because I wanted to make it twenty. As an artist myself, it was so hard because there are so many astoundingly beautiful covers! So in no particular order, let's begin.

1. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
This book is just as dark and mysterious as the cover!

2. A Mad, Wicked Folly by Sharon Biggs Waller
This book is beautiful in every way and the cover just calls to be read.

3. Looking for Alaska by John Green
I find this cover beautiful in its simplicity, but the story is even better believe it or not.

4. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
I love this cover. It reminds me of an indie folk band album cover.

5. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner
Stars, pretty dress, and red hair that reminds me of Amy Pond's from Doctor Who. I couldn't ask for more.

6. Strange Sweet Song by Adi Rule
I know virtually nothing about this book, other than I find it mysterious and eerily beautiful. Hence adding it to my ever increasing TBR pile.

7. The Chaos of the Stars by Kiersten White
I love the font, the flowery designs and the stars in the background. I love that it doesn't give anything away by the cover, only that it is beautiful.

8. Compulsion by Martina Boone
I don't know about you, but I am a sucker for autumn. Fall leaves and a cover like this makes me swoon, not to mention that it's a Southern Gothic!

9. The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith
Silhouettes... Need I say more?

10. The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
I just love underwater photography. I just wish I had the equipment to take underwater photography myself.

What are some covers you would put on your wall? Share with the rest of us!

  1. I don't know if I would ever put a book cover on my wall... but there are some that I think are really beautiful. The covers for The Body Finder series by Kimberly Derting are lovely (haven't read them yet, though). I really like the paperback cover for Tiger Moon by Antonia Michaelis (the one with the girl and the pool on the front). I also like the cover of My Name Is Memory by Ann Brashares; I love the colours.

And I also must admit that I do like the covers of the first three books in the Twilight series. They're very striking. Too bad what's between those covers is a disappointment!

  2. Yes, The Body Finder series is beautiful! I actually just met Kimberly Derting this evening on her Dark Days tour! She's really kind!
