5 things that happened this month:
1. Started classes. Oh boy, you guys, I have so much work headed my way this semester! I'm going to be constantly writing papers and studying and reading. The last two weeks have been exhausting and this was just the beginning. I'm still very excited about my classes. All of them are going to be great in their own ways. My Old English Lit class is going to to be great because it's taught by a professor who knows what he's talking about and have a scary prestigious alma maters (Brown, Vanderbilt, and Dartmouth YIKES!)  My YA Lit class is FANTASTIC! I love my teacher, and yeah, it's going to be so much fun! And then I have Milton Poetry and Prose. That class is going to be really hard but so very fun. My teacher is HILARIOUS! I die laughing in every class.

2. I finally got to meet Rachel from the Nerd Herd Reads IRL. She's a great gal, and you should definitely follow her awesome blog! :)

3. So a big thing happened this month. I got an editing job! I'm really excited about it. I'm going to be editing three books for this woman who wants to self publish! I'm SO excited about it. It's a stepping stone to get into the publishing industry, and it just looks really good on a resume. Also, did I mention she is friends with Colleen Hoover? Yeah, I kinda fangirled when I heard.

4. I learned how to read Old English texts last week. Yeah, you got that right. I can officially read Old English (can't quite understand it yet, but it's still exciting). And for those of you who think it looks like Modern English, go google Old English texts and see if you can figure out what it's say or how to pronounce it.

5. Jess from Such a Novel Idea is being an awesome lady (like normal) and is hosting a spotlight and GIVEAWAY on her blog for my Etsy shop. You should go check it out and just so you know there's a nice 20% off coupon available for people who go and visit the post! :)

2 Books I enjoyed this month:
Noggin by John Corey Whaley
Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher

New Obsessions:
Marco Polo: You guys. This show is Bomb!!! I love it! I swallowed this series in two days, and I couldn't get enough! I need more ASAP.
Hot Tea: I've always liked hot tea, but I have been sick over the past couple weeks, and I have been downing hot tea and apple cider like no one's business. Seriously, hot teas are the best. I need to make a trip to Teavana soon.
My Business Cards: I don't have a photo of them, because I don't have them with me, but they are pretty much the best ever. I kinda sorta love them! Thanks goes to Stephanie at These Paper Hearts for designing them!
Into the Woods: At first, I wasn't exactly sure if I liked the movie or even the music, but the more I thought about it and hummed the catchy music to myself, the more I fell in love with it all.
I'm a bit obsessed now.

Month in a photo:
This was my conversation with Addison over the Never Never feels.
I think all the gifs are quite accurate.

2 things I'm looking forward to next month:
1. My birthday!!! I don't know if I should stop being excited about birthdays, seeing as I'm getting up there (25), but I'm exciting because gifts and I mean a day all about me... I'm always up for something like that! :)
2. Valentine's Day! I generally HATE Valentine's Day. I find it really difficult most of the time for a single gal like me, but I've decided that this year, I'm going to make it fun for myself. I told myself that I get to buy a box of chocolates and a nice book from B&N for Valentine's Day. So needless to say, I'm really looking forward to Valentine's Day now!

Favorite Quotes:
How off to be made of flesh, balanced on bone, and filled with a soul you've never met.
-Tarryn Fisher, Never Never

Some people say dying alone is a fate worth than death itself. Well, they should try being alone during the living part sometimes. There's no quicker way to make you wonder why the hell you ever though you'd want to return.
-John Corey Whaley, Noggin

What a treacherous thing to believe that a person is more than a person.
-John Green, Paper Towns

That's always seemed so ridiculous to me, that people want to be around someone because they're pretty. It's like picking your breakfast cereals based on color instead of taste.
-John Green, Paper Towns

What were the highlights of your month?

  1. A YA Lit class sounds like fun. I don't think there was any such thing when I was in university. YA has really taken off since then.

    1. Oh it's definitely fun, though it's a TON of work!

  2. Ahhh I'd love to take a YA lit class! They didn't have that available at my school D:

I loved Into the Woods - I had to run out and get the soundtrack as soon as I saw the movie!

Good plans for V-Day! I used to do that as well; take yourself on a date. No dude needed ;) And what day is your birthday??

    1. right Into the Woods is sooo good!!!!!! My birthday is feb 28th! :)

  3. Congrats on the editing job! That's so cool :D I wanted to see Into the Woods, but I wasn't sure if I would like the ending based on the reviews I read. Did you like the ending?

Glad you like your new business cards :)

    1. Into the Woods was very different. I knew a bit of what i was getting into because I used to be in theatre and enjoy going to plays and musicals and such. I think it was probably a better stage performance than movie, but it was still good. The ending is a bit different, and at first, I really thought I didn't like it, but I thought about it for over a week and just kind of analyzed it in my mind, and then I realized that I actually did appreciate very much. I have the soundtrack and everything and I plan on buying it when it comes out on DVD.

Yeah thanks! The business cards turned out GREAT! :)

  4. I love those quotes! And although I agree that you shouldn't like people because they're "pretty" or whatnot or anything so shallow...I...I confess...I do pick things juts because of colour. I KNOW I'M BAD. But I don't eat purple carrots even though I like carrots just because carrots should be orange.
    Okay. I'm random.
    I'LL STOP.
Omg, nearly. XD Just, yaaay for birthdays! Birthdays can be fun. And your editing job sounds aaaamazing. I seriously way prefer editing other people's stuff to my own. I hate editing my own haha. xD

    1. Really?! I love editing my own stories! Once you get the knack for it, you get really excited about making your story better! lol! :)

  5. OMG congrats on getting an editing job! And friends with Colleen Hoover? That's pretty damn awesome xD Hahaha I love those quotes! And yaaaaaay for birthday month! I'll be ready with the cake ;)

Have a lovely week, Amanda <33

    1. THANK YOU! I know, right? It's kinda awesome! YAY for cake!!! Thanks, Melanie!

  6. Congrats on your editing job, how cool is that! Sounds like you had a great month! I died during that Agony song - it was SO good!
Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings

    1. Thank you!!! hahaha isn't that song great?! I really love the soundtrack!

  7. Congrats on the job!!!! Those can be tough to come by. :)

    1. I know! It was such a random thing too! But I'm so excited! Thank you!

  8. Amanda!! #3 is FREAKING AWESOME! Congratulations!!!!
I was the same way about 'Into the Woods'...but the disappointment is still kinda there for me. Although, that 'Agony' scene? Cracked up! Lovely use of the gifs by the way XD
And yay birthday month! I am glad another person is still excited about birthdays like I am. I shall be 25 this year too. But hey, "a day all about me" is a perfect way to view it! ;D

    Rosie xx
