Audiobook Challenge Wrap-up

Friday, December 18, 2015

One of my big reading challenges of 2015 was to listen to more audiobooks. Luckily, I found that The Book Nympho and Hot Listens was hosting an audiobook challenge that fits my needs PERFECTLY!

Because I'm relatively new to the whole audiobook thing, I decided to make my challenge relatively small for this year.

I chose to go for the Stenographer Badge that requires 10-15 books. Though I technically knocked this one out of the field considering I have finished 33 audiobooks this year.

These are my audiobook listened to until the first update:
1. Noggin by John Corey Whaley
2. Paper Towns by John Green
3. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
4. The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski
6. Death Marked by Leah Cypess
7. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

These are the books I've listened to on my second update:
8. These Broken Stars by Amie Kauffman and Meagan Spooner

12. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
13. The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas
14. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (x3)
15. Climbing the Stairs by Padma Venkatraman

These are the books I've listened on my third update:
16. White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout
17. Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout
18. Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This go-round, my favorite audiobook was The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.... HANDS DOWN BEST BOOK EVER!

You guys... this book changed my life. I loved it so much. I don't know if I would enjoy it as much if I was reading it but hearing it is the ultimate best. Seriously, everyone should get this book! It is written so beautifully and historically and it's just amazing okay?!

And again, I seem to be re-listening to SJM's work like crazy... yeah, I know I have a problem, but there is something that eases my anxiety listening to her wonderfully crafted stories. In a time where I'm having problems with my anxiety, listening to a story over and over again and being able to know the ending really helps.

What audiobooks have you listened to and loved? Will you be participating in this audiobook challenge with me next year?

  1. Although I am not participating in any year long challenges next year except for goodreads, I wish you the best of luck with this one! I am also an audiobook newb and will take your recommendation of The Historian to heart. I have had that book on my TBR pile since forever. :) I am listening to Eleanor and Park right now and I am LOVING it on audio.

    1. Thank you! I was a newb to the audiobooks this year, so I totally know how you feel! But I will say that I have learned to utterly enjoy listening to audiobooks... Actually, I've listened to books that I don't think I ever would have picked up otherwise, so I hope you enjoy listening to them more this year.

Yeah, The Historian is phenomenal. It's a bit long-winded at times, but it's superbly written. I loved every single minute of it! And I hope you do too! Good luck with it! :)
