Location

Barely an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh the Munro Inn sits on the Rob Roy Way in the middle of beautiful Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.

Based in Strathyre, “the first village of the Highlands”, we’re lucky to be close to a little bit of everything Scotland has to offer in an area known as the Trossachs. From gorgeous scenic Highland walks around Ben Vorlich, Loch Lomond or Loch Katrine to the excitement and bustle of the cities the Inn is the perfect place to act as a base camp taking everything in, or an easily reached retreat to just get away from it all for a while.

The local area won’t disappoint anyone looking for a taste of old Scotland; accessible but remote, the Trossachs are famous for their natural beauty and abundant wildlife with calm contemplative loch side walks sitting just below challenging rugged mountain tracks.

We’re also on the Rob Roy Way, formed from the tracks and paths that Rob Roy MacGregor used to traverse the country. This famous long distance walk takes in some of the UK’s most breathtaking scenery and we provide a welcome stop off for many walkers taking a week to trek the entire route.

One of the biggest attractions for our visitors is how well connected the area is with the whole lowlands area. You may spend your evenings enjoying a dram looking out on natural wilderness, but with Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling all less than an hours drive you can enjoy all the museums, art galleries, historic buildings and shopping that modern Scotland has to offer.

Whether you want old Scotland, new Scotland or a mixture of the two the Munro Inn provides a perfect balance and easy access to all of it; check availability online or contact us to make a booking.
