Another Awesome Author Event at IPL +GIVEAWAY

Friday, July 18, 2014

Last week, Jamie and I went to another amazingly superb author event at Irving Public Library. We had an absolutely awesome panel that included Julie Murphy (Side Effects May Vary), Lisa Stasse (Forsaken trilogy), Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky trilogy), Sherry Thomas (The Burning SKy, The Perilous Sea), and John Corey Whaley (Where Things Come Back, Noggin). The moderator was Mary from Mary Had a Little Book Blog.

First off, this was the funniest panel I have ever attended Corey, Sherry, and Julie were absolutely hilarious in every way. Seriously, one of the best panels. They kept things light and fun while also hitting on some really cool things about the writing craft and book business.

Dark Days Tour!

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Yesterday, Jamie and I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Irving Public Library and be a part of the Dark Days tour! It was one of the coolest events we've ever attended and there were other authors moseying about the masses like Julie Murphy and Jeramey Kraatz. We came with books in hand, ready to meet the authors.

[Kimberly Derting, Danielle Paige, Kelley Armstrong, Kiera Cass]

First let me tell you, ALL of these authors were extremely kind! Kimberly Derting was a doll and super funny, Danielle Paige was classy and soft spoken, Kelley Armstrong was enlightening and engaging, and Kiera Cass was enthusiastic and overjoyed! All of these authors were so different, yet all of them could not believe the hype and the turn out of the event.

Side Effects May Vary Book Launch

Sunday, March 16, 2014

Event Recap:
Saturday, Amanda, Jamie, and I had the chance to attend Julie Murphy's Side Effects May Vary Launch Party in Texas. The crowd turn out for the event was great, and Julie sold out of her book within the first 30 minutes of the event. Julie, of course, was stunning and looked so happy to be there. She spoke for several minutes about the book, its journey, and her excitement to see it published. At one point, she even got emotional (which I loved). You could tell that this book was her pride and joy.

Book Signing:
During the book signing, Julie took time to visit and meet each person that came through the line. It wasn't rushed at all, which I loved. She remembered both Amanda and I, and even noticed that Amanda cut her hair. I've never been to an author signing before, but Amanda had, and commented on the rare personal touches that were made. It was great.
While meeting Julie, we talked about her fame as a newly published author, and asked if she was still star struck when she met bigger authors. She joked about crying when she met A.S. King, and feeling super nervous when she met Sarah Dessen.
